Continuing Education Unit

Also called: CEU, continuing education

Definition

The unit in which behavior analysts' continuing education is counted for recertification: a set number per two-year cycle, with minimums in ethics and — for those who supervise — in supervision. Units come from learning events by authorized providers, university teaching or coursework, and scholarship such as publishing. Units cannot be carried into the next cycle and repeated events do not count.

Example

  • An analyst attends a 50-minute ethics webinar from an authorized provider and enters one ethics unit.

Not continuing education unit

  • Attending the same annual conference talk a second time. Repeated events do not count.
