Unrestricted Activity
Also called: unrestricted hours, restricted activity, fieldwork activities
Definition
In supervised fieldwork toward analyst certification, an activity that resembles what a certified analyst does — observing and analyzing data, designing programs, training staff and caregivers, meeting with clients about services — as opposed to restricted activities, which are the direct implementation of existing programs with clients. A majority of fieldwork hours must be unrestricted.

Fieldwork tasks that are analyst work, like designing programs and training staff, rather than delivering sessions. Most of a trainee's hours have to be this kind.
Example
A trainee graphs a client's data, drafts a revised program, and reviews it with their supervisor.
Not unrestricted activity
Running a discrete-trial session as written. That is restricted activity.
