Definition
A verbal operant in which a spoken stimulus evokes a written response that corresponds to it — writing or typing what is heard. Copying written text from written text is a related operant in which the stimulus and response share the same form.
In plain language
Writing down what you hear. Someone says a word and you write or type it.
Example
The teacher says "cat" and the student writes c-a-t.
Not transcription
The student sees the word "cat" and reads it aloud. Print to speech is textual.
